Wuyi Square is in the center of the Business circle of Changsha, also the longest history of it. The ancient Changsha city site is today's Wuyi square and its surrounding area. For thousands of years, Wuyi square has been around the ancient Changsha official office location.
Yuelu Academy is located at the eastern foot of Yuelu Mountain. Founded in 976, Yuelu Academy was one of the four academies in the Song Dynasty. In the 29th year of The Reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1903), it was changed into an institution of higher learning, and later into a Higher Normal University. In 1926, it was changed into Hunan University. The existing ancient buildings of the academy include Royal Library, Wenchang Building, Banxue Zhai, Ten Yi Temple, Lian Xi Temple, Xiangshui School Scripture Hall, inferiority Pavilion, etc., which remind people of the glorious history of the academy.
Orange island, a small sand island in the middle of the Xiangjiang River, is about five kilometers long and the largest inland continent in the world. It has been a famous tourist resort in Hunan Province since ancient times. Chairman Mao Zedong had a special fondness for Orange Island. He once wrote a famous sentence in “Qinyuan Spring • Snow” “independent cold autumn, Xiangjiang North, Orange Island head”.
