Location & Access

Shangri-La Hotel, Qinhuangdao is a convenient distance from the main points of entry.

Located in the Haigang District by the sea, the hotel is 71 kilometres from the Qinhuangdao Beidaihe Airport. The drive from the airport takes approximately 1 hour by car.

For guests arriving by high-speed rail there are two options: Qinhuangdao Railway Station is 20 minutes drive to the hotel and Beidahei Railway Station is 25 minutes drive to the Hotel.

From Beijing to Qinhuangdao, it takes approximately 2.5 hours by train or 3 hours by car.

Surroundings

Qinhuangdao is located between the Bohai Sea to the south and Mount Yanshan to the north. It is close to Beijing and Tianjin in the west, while Liaoning province lies to the east. This prosperous and culturally rich city is one of the top ten tourist destinations in China, offering sea, beach and mountain landscapes, as well as proximity to the Great Wall and other historical sites.

Qinhuangdao was one of the first coastal cities in China to open up to the outside world in 1984. It is named after the legendary Emperor Qinshihuang of the Qin Dynasty, the first emperor in Chinese history. In 215 B.C., Emperor Qinshihuang arrived in Jieshi (the ancient name of Qinhuangdao) to search for immortality.

Horizon Club rooms are located from levels 16 to 22 for guests who prefer a higher standard of personalised service. Horizon Club guests can enjoy express check-in and out service, and access to the Horizon Club Lounge on level 23, which is open from 6.30am to 11pm daily.
