Surroundings

Shushan Forest Park It is located 10 km away from downtown of Hefei, and covers an area of 566 hectares. It consists of Shu Mountain, Kaifu Temple, Shu Well and Dragon King Temple. With the richly variegated landscape the forest park has become one of the famous scenic spots in Hefei.
Lord Bao Park
Located in the southeastern part of Huanchen Park (Surrounding City Park) of Hefei city, Lord Bao Park is a 4A-rated scenic spot. It consists of an ancestral temple, a tomb, a floating village and a tower called Qingfengge (representing his incorruptness). The theme of Lord Bao History, Lord Bao Culture and Lord Bao Relics displays Lord Bao’s dutiful, incorruptive and upright life from different angles and in different ways. It is a tourist spot for people to go to for sightseeing or pay respect to Lord Bao.
Li Hongzhang's Memorial Hall Li Hongzhang, was born in Hefei in 1823. His highest official title was governor-general of Zhili (now Hebei province) and Northern Minister concurrently. He held key posts for forty years, traveling far and wide across East Asia and Western Europe. He was in charge of both the domestic affairs and foreign affairs of the Qing Dynasty. He founded the Huai Army and initiated the Westernization Movement. He was referred to as “the first man to advocate the open-door policy in China.” His former residence is located on the Huaihe Road (the mid-section) of Hefei. The entire building looks magnificent with carved beams and rafters. It is the largest existing and best preserved former residence in Hefei. It is a key cultural relic site under the protection of Anhui Provincial Government.
Xiao Yao Jin Park It is located in the northeastern part of the old town area. The Park has a unique history and is a famous scenic spot in Hefei. It was a battlefield during the period of the Three Kingdoms in the third century, the brave general Zhang Liao, defeated an army from the Wu Kingdom; the battleground is near this park.
Hui Park It is located in the Economic and Technological Development Zone in Hefei, covering an area of 20 hectares. The structure plan for the garden is based on the administrative divisions of Anhui Province. It displays the historical & cultural attractions of the 17 cities in the province as well as their contemporary construction achievements by means of landscaping. The landscape here includes: "the beautiful scenery in Huangshan, the sailing vessels on the Chaohu Lake, the Buddha halo on Mt. Jiuhua. The townscape shows the great achievements of the social & economic development in Anhui Province.
