Location & Access
Shanghai Sun Island is an artificial island resort located in Zhujiajiao Town, Qingpu District (formerly known as Mao Island), about 50 kilometers from the center of Shanghai. Here are the detailed transportation options to reach Sun Island for your reference:
1、Self driving route (recommended)
1. Urban direction
Route: Yan'an Elevated Road → G50 Shanghai Chongqing Expressway (towards Huzhou) → Exit at Zhufeng Highway → Turn left and continue straight along Zhufeng Highway → Turn right on Shenzhuan Highway → Follow the signs to reach Sun Island.
Duration: Approximately 1-1.5 hours (depending on road conditions).
Parking: There are ample parking lots within the resort area, and hotel guests usually stay for free.
2. Direction towards Hongqiao Airport/Railway Station
G50 Shanghai Chongqing Expressway (same route as above) or Songze Elevated Road, then transfer to G1503 Ring Expressway and exit at Zhufeng Highway.
2、Public transportation
1. Subway+bus (economical but time-consuming)
Step 1: Take Metro Line 17 to Zhujiajiao Station (Exit 1).
Step 2: Transfer to the "Qingshang Line" bus and get off at "Taiyangdao Station" (about 30 minutes, with few trips, it is recommended to check the timetable in advance).
Total travel time: Approximately 2-2.5 hours from the city center.
Distance from the city center: 49 kilometers, distance from Songjiang Railway Station: 23 kilometers, distance from Hongqiao Railway Station: 39 kilometers, distance from Hongqiao Airport: 39 kilometers, distance from Pudong Airport: 79 kilometers.

Equestrian Club:
Established in 1997, Sun Island
Equestrian Club is an institutional member of the China Equestrian Association
(CEA) and currently serves on the council of the Shanghai Equestrian
Association. The club combines premium facilities, professional equine care,
and a team of elite coaches. Following its comprehensive 2018 renovation, it
now operates two indoor arenas (1,800㎡ and 800㎡), a 2,840㎡ outdoor arena, five
internationally standardized stables housing over 60 well-trained horses, and
employs over a dozen certified equestrian professionals.
Pets Zone:
Located within Pier Mermaid, the Sun
Island Pets Zone is designed to provide holistic care and fun for all pets.
Training, boarding, entertainment activities, afternoon tea, day care, washing
& spa services are available at the indoor area. Standing at 4000sqm, the
outdoor Ultimate Fun is where pets enjoy playing freely in open spaces. Other
than the 75sqm sheltered swimming pool, the adventure agility course is the
highlight of Ultimate Fun, with 12 challenges and a total distance of 123m.
Newly introduced 25 pets boarding rooms not only allow pets to stay comfortably
but also kick off bad habits and learn new tricks while boarding through 24
hours professional care.

Pagoda Square:
This ancient pagoda, originally standing
on an islet in the Mao River, dates back to the Qianfu era (874-879 AD) of the
Tang Dynasty, making it a 1,200-year-old architectural treasure. Designated as
a Qingpu District Protected Cultural Relic in 1959 and elevated to Shanghai
Municipal Heritage Site status in 1962, the Mao Tower remains an iconic
landmark of Shanghai Sun Island, embodying centuries of hydrological and
spiritual significance.
