• World renowned Park Hotel is located at the origin point of the Shanghai metropolis.
• In the year 2006, Park Hotel was named as one of the “Important Historical Monuments Under Special Preservation” by the State Council .
• In 2011, as a “China Time-honored Brand Enterprise” and a “Shanghai Famous Trademark”. 
• Built in 1934, Park Hotel is a masterpiece of then celebrated Hungarian architect, László Hudec. Towering over the city at 83.8 meters high with 24 storeys, it gained popularity as the tallest building in Asia for thirty years and the tallest building in Shanghai for fifty years. For decades it was the pride of all Shanghai citizens. 
• In 1950, Shanghai Surveying and Mapping Institute (Land Planning Bureau) designated the flagpole at the top of Park Hotel as the origin point of Shanghai. A Zero Center Point mould was set up at the hotel’s lobby to mark this honor.
