China, Singapore and Thailand visa waiver policies
Posted on 2024-01-29Great things come in pairs 好事成双 says an ancient Chinese wisdom. And oh, how true it is!
Last week China and Singapore took a significant step towards enhancing travel and tourism between the two nations. Both countries have mutually agreed to implement a reciprocal visa policy, allowing their citizens to enjoy a visa-free stay for up to 30 days. This remarkable announcement is set to take effect from February 9, 2024.
Furthermore, the positive news continued with another major breakthrough over the weekend. On Sunday, January 28th, China and Thailand reached an agreement to waive visa requirements for each other's nationals. This move aims to facilitate seamless travel and promote tourism between the two countries. It is worth noting that this development adds to the list of 48 countries that already offer visa-free policies, including Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Maldives, United Arab Emirates, Fiji, Tunisia, Seychelles, Qatar, Oman, and Morocco.
These recent developments not only signify a strong resurgence in Chinese international travelers but also highlight China's growing appeal as a destination in the Year of the Dragon, 2024. If you are interested in gaining further insights into the China outbound market, please drop us a line!
