Nestled in the heart of lush green forests, our unique tented camp sits in harmony with the surrounding nature. Inspired by the early European settlers from the 1800s, architect Bill Bensley designed Capella Ubud, Bali as a tribute to their spirit of adventure.
Our refined camp is more than a hotel. Constructed in between all of the trees and hidden from afar, it captures the imagination of those who aspire a truly unique experience that allows them to enjoy the essence of Bali’s untouched natural surroundings in personalize and stylish comfort. Capella Ubud, Bali offers twenty-two one-bedroom tents and one two-bedroom lodge; all with private pools.

Restaurant & Bars
Mads Lange Restaurant
Mads Lange, the Camp’s split-level tented dining room is named in honour of the famous Danish spice trader, entrepreneur and peace maker of Bali, Mads Johansen Lange, nicknamed “The White King of Bali”. Offering an elaborate array of Indonesian classic dishes, designed for sharing in the manner of “Rijsttafel”, served with a variety of locally harvested rice, using ancient recipes inspired by the spice trail across the Nusantara archipelago and international favorites.
Api Jiwa
Inspired by the Sanskrit word meaning ‘fire to the soul’, our chefs at Api Jiwa create bold flavors inspired by Asian omakase served in a lively and uniquely designed open-air restaurant. Watch the magic happen around the Chef’s counter or at the private dining table for a course by course journey through unexpected bites and exciting tastes showcasing the best local produce from Bali.
The Mortar & Pestle Bar
Offers light poolside snacks and health-conscious options inclusive of a wide range of cocktails and potions. All beverages are locally inspired and handcrafted using traditional methods inclusive of a mortar and pestle and manual ice crusher, in order not to interrupt mother nature’s beautiful rainforest sounds and delights.
The Officers Tent
Exclusively reserved for camp residents, is the camp’s living room where morning coffee, afternoon tea and evening cocktails and canapés are served. A wide range of books, International magazines, a billiard table and board games are available for our guests’ entertainment.
The Camp Fire
Meet a local storyteller over pulled hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows under the stars, enjoy a silent black and white movie showcasing Bali life of yesteryear or take part in a casual camp fire supper.
In tent dining takes on an entirely different role at this camp where an assortment of stacked tiffin boxes forms the basis of your private buffet dinner set up that is prepared entirely to your liking.
Location & Access
Capella Ubud perched within a dramatic terraced landscape with prominent rice paddies surrounding, rainforest, and sacred Wos River. Strategically positioned in an Balinese artist village called Keliki. Can be accessed 1 hour 45 minutes approximately from Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) by hotel car.

Capella Ubud, Bali is a very special property that is uniquely designed in a tent style. Inspired by the early European settlers from the 1800s, celebrated architect Bill Bensley conceptualized this refined tented camp as a tribute to their spirit of adventure amidst untouched nature. Furnished with 23 units of individual tent with 23 different names and stories that reflects in each tent interior design. These 23 units of tents are consist of 22 units of one-bedroom and 1 unit of two-bedroom. Tent categories are:
- Terrace Tent. Sit near the rice paddy fields with an outlook to the rainforest from large outdoor decks, with daybeds and poolside sun loungers around a private pool. Terrace tent are within close proximity to Camp Post, Officers Tent and restaurants. Measure 173sqm / 1862 sqft.
- Rainforest Tent. Scattered around the camp inside the rainforest, our Rainforest Tents have views across the lush surroundings, which can be enjoyed from the outdoor private pool and large deck. With some set into the sloping terrain, the proximity to nature and the beauty of Bali is respected with the subtle yet luxurious comforts within the tent. These are in close proximity to Camp Post, the Cistern Pool and restaurants. Measure 173sqm / 1862 sqft.
- River Tent. Offering a tranquil Wos River experience and view the River Tents are the place to be soothed and to sleep by the closeness of nature. Most of the tents are perched up high and some of the tents have pools accessed via spiral stairs. River Tents are the choice for guests who love the jungle and may not be suitable for families with small children or guests with any mobility challenges. Measure 173sqm / 1862 sqft.
- Keliki Valley Tent. Offering completely unobstructed Keliki Valley views, Keliki Valley tents are elevated high above the ground and offer our largest private pools, outdoor decks and dining areas. Measure 173sqm / 1862 sqft.
